Audio Autopilot keeps the mix right
Save a mix as a scene, then let apps, websites, output devices, or time activate it automatically. When the moment passes, MixBar restores the exact mix you had before.
Turn down a loud meeting, keep music in the background, or silence one browser tab—without changing everything else.
“The call is too quiet.”
“That tab is blasting.”
“Music keeps drowning everything out.”
MixBar puts the controls macOS is missing into one compact menu-bar panel—without replacing your audio devices or sending sound anywhere.

Balance music, meetings, games, videos, and notifications independently. MixBar remembers the level when an app comes back.
Control supported Safari, Chrome, and Opera tabs beneath their browser—without losing the app-level master.
MixBar lives in your menu bar, starts at login, and stays out of the way until you need it.
Rename noisy processes, save tab labels, and restore volume and mute settings automatically.
Choose built-in speakers, displays, headphones, Bluetooth, or AirPlay directly in MixBar. The route icon and macOS default output stay synchronized automatically.
Choose the macOS input source and adjust hardware input gain. Per-app input routing, presets, and voice tools are coming next.
Turn every controlled app up or down together, or mute the whole mix while keeping each app’s balance intact.
Expand an app and shape Bass, Mid, and Treble independently for each Core Audio subprocess or controlled Chrome and Opera tab. MixBar remembers every curve.
No feature tiers, no add-ons, and no account required to use the app.

Playing tabs sit underneath their browser, so the relationship is obvious. Set a quiet default for a playlist, mute a noisy page, and let MixBar remember it by URL.
Safari tab control works with standard HTML audio and video. Web Audio-only, protected, and some embedded players remain controllable through Safari’s app-level slider.
MixBar processes outgoing app audio locally and in memory. Its microphone control changes macOS device settings only; MixBar never captures, records, or uploads microphone audio.
Open the MixBar disk image and move the app into your Applications folder.
macOS asks once so MixBar can adjust each application’s outgoing sound.
Every app producing audio appears automatically. Browser tab setup is optional.

That is Apple’s name for the permission used to access an app’s outgoing audio stream. MixBar uses it only to change output volume locally. Microphone controls change device settings without capturing audio.
Safari works with standard HTML audio and video. Chrome and Opera use the optional MixBar extension and require you to choose which tabs to control. Firefox is controlled at the application level.
Yes. App settings are stored by bundle identifier, while supported browser-tab settings are remembered by URL.
Audio Autopilot saves your complete mix as a scene and can activate it when an app plays, a website has media, a particular output is connected, or a time window begins. It restores the previous mix when the trigger ends, and all rules stay on your Mac.
Yes. Expand an app to reach each detected Core Audio subprocess, or open EQ beside a controlled Chrome or Opera tab. Bass, Mid, and Treble range from −12 dB to +12 dB, and MixBar remembers every curve.
MixBar requires macOS 14.2 or later and includes native support for both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
No. MixBar uses Apple’s built-in Core Audio process-tap technology. It does not install a virtual audio device, kernel extension, or system-wide driver.
